I find that repeat forms are a common theme in my work. I not only get inspired by them but I find that the processes by which my pieces are made, are also repeated.
I find repeat form or pattern in many things the most obvious being seeds and flowers. But I find that my inspiration can come form anywhere.

Quilling
Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and the coil shaped, these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental pattern.

Why Paper?
There is nothing nicer than a clean sheet of white crisp paper so working with paper seems an obvious choice for me. Folding, creasing, bending, cutting or curling the possibilities are endless.

I visited his shop in London and it was truly amazing. The large pieces were obviously way out of my price range so I settled for two equally as pretty cards. (Photograph to follow)

Motivation and Inspiration
I am particularly motivated by repeat forms that have subtile changes in them. I commonly take inspiration from seeds and flowers, but find myself looking for patterns in all surfaces.
The human form is a common theme through out my work. I like to produce sculptural pieces that adorn and compliment the body.
Using unassuming materials also interests me, to use a material that is presumed...
