Mark Making
By using paint to make expressive marks I can suggest the type scale and shape that I want my finished pieces to be.
This really helps me to visualise what my finished pieces would look like rather than just looking at small samples and imagining what they would look like on a bigger scale.
After the mark making stage I like to take the smaller samples of coiled paper and place them on a mannequin to get the correct composition.
